OneNation MLS is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We believe everyone deserves equal access to housing information, and our digital experience should reflect that principle.
OneNation MLS strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility. They explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.
While we aim for full conformance, we recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are continually auditing our platform and making improvements to meet or exceed these standards.
All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard navigation. You can use Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, and arrow keys to navigate through the platform without a mouse.
Our platform is designed to work with popular screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), and TalkBack (Android). We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels throughout.
We maintain a minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. Information is not conveyed by color alone. All text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content.
Our platform is fully responsive and adapts to various screen sizes and orientations. Content reflows properly when zoomed to 400%, and touch targets are sized appropriately for mobile use.
Visible focus indicators are provided for all interactive elements. Focus order follows a logical sequence. Modals and dialogs properly trap and manage focus.
All images include descriptive alternative text. Videos include captions where available. Animations respect the “prefers-reduced-motion” system setting.
We use proper HTML5 semantic elements (header, nav, main, article, section, aside, footer) to convey document structure. Heading levels (h1-h6) are used in a logical, hierarchical manner. Lists, tables, and form elements use appropriate semantic markup.
Where native HTML semantics are insufficient, we employ WAI-ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes to enhance accessibility:
